Emma moved to Sexsmith, Alberta from the west cost of Newfoundland in 2012. After graduation she continued her post-secondary education in Addictions Counselling. Emma originally came to Sunrise House to complete her practicum and was offered a front line youth support worker position after completion.
“I am so fortunate to grow as a young adult within this organization. It has taught me an unbelievable amount of knowledge and gives me ongoing opportunity to learn and expand, not only in my career but in my everyday life as a student and mother. We all know change is possible but not easy, everyone needs a support system and safe space that we are lucky enough to provide for our youth ❤️”.
We are so thankful to have Emma on our team. Emma brings a kind, gentle approach when working with youth. Emma is an excellent listener, and has been a pleasure to watch grow with her role.
